Model United Nations is more than a conference — it is an opportunity to develop leadership, communication, diplomacy, and teamwork while gaining new perspectives on issues that shape our world. Whether you are a first-time delegate or an experienced MUNer, we hope WHC '26 will be an enriching and memorable experience.

What is MUN?
Model United Nations (MUN) is a student simulation of the proceedings of the United Nations. Students, referred to as Delegates, are assigned a country to represent in one of the UN's numerous committees with pre-set topics to debate.
They research the background of their country, their country's position on the topics at hand, and prepare notes on possible solutions to the problems faced. Students then convene at Model UN conferences to debate their assigned topics with students representing the other UN member states.
Much like the real UN, the goal is to identify solutions, by negotiation and consensus, on which many countries can agree.
About WHC '26
World Health Conclave (WHC '26) at its inaugural edition brings youth together to learn and share ideas from a diverse set of experiences and backgrounds, where the Executive Board, International Press, and International Delegates consolidate to learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations.
Organized by Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital, WHC '26 will be held at Kalitheerthalkuppam, Puducherry. This edition brings together delegates under the council — the World Health Organization (WHO) — offering participants a focused, immersive experience as they step into the shoes of global health leaders and grapple with real-world health crises through debate and diplomacy.
At WHC, delegates gain insight into the United Nations and the dynamics of international relations by assuming the roles of UN representatives. It is an exciting opportunity to debate issues that confront world leaders, to draft resolutions in response to global issues, and to work alongside others who are equally motivated and passionate about the topics of debate. True to the spirit of the United Nations, WHC strives to foster a constructive forum for the ongoing crises in the world.
The Agenda
"Protecting Healthcare Facilities & Securing Passage of Medical Aid in War Zones"
We've seen in recent wars in Gaza, Sudan, and Ukraine how armed forces slap a "dual-use" label on a hospital to justify striking it. This debate will force the room to face where international law hits a wall the second an army claims combatants are hiding inside.
The debate will hinge on finding realistic ways to monitor and demilitarize frontline clinics, creating actual consequences when medics and WHO teams get hit, and forcing surgical supplies past military blockades.
World Health Organization
The World Health Organization (WHO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations concerned with international public health. Established on 7 April 1948 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, WHO is the authority for the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries, and monitoring and assessing health trends. The WHO has 194 member nations.
Key Priorities: Communicable diseases (HIV, Ebola, malaria, tuberculosis); non-communicable diseases (heart disease, cancer); healthy diet, nutrition & food security; occupational health; substance abuse.
Achievements: Eradication of smallpox, near-eradication of polio, development of the Ebola vaccine.
International Press
The International Press serves as the eyes and ears of the conference, providing coverage of discussions, negotiations, and developments within the committee. Unlike traditional delegates, members of the International Press do not represent individual nations or participate directly in drafting resolutions. Instead, they observe proceedings, investigate different perspectives, conduct interviews, and communicate important developments to the wider MUN community.
Roles: Journalism, Editorial Reporting, Photography & Media Documentation.
Focus: Covering major speeches, diplomatic disagreements, emerging alliances, proposed solutions, and negotiation progress.

REGISTRATION & SLOT ALLOCATION
All delegates are required to complete the registration and payment process using only the payment methods specified by the Organizing Committee. Registration will be considered confirmed only upon receipt of payment and an official confirmation from the Organizing Committee.
As the number of available delegate slots is limited, allocations will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Delegates who are unable to secure a slot due to capacity constraints will receive a full refund of the amount paid.
Note: Payments made through any method other than those officially specified by the Organizing Committee will not be considered valid for registration.
